Job Description
Parsons is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to maintain and support operational Oracle databases within a data warehouse environment. The role involves configuring, maintaining, and administering application‑specific databases, ingesting data from internal and external sources, and presenting data for analytics and business intelligence.
What You'll Be Doing- Managing provisioned data warehouse and application databases in an Oracle Exadata Cloud Services environment.
- Performing daily database administration functions, including developing queries and reports, modifying or creating database views, and managing backup and recovery operations.
- Monitoring database performance, publishing daily performance metrics, and resolving database issues that impact application performance.
- Applying vendor‑provided updates to database tables and schemas.
- Managing and configuring Oracle APEX to support multiple mission‑critical applications.
- Designing logical data relationships and query structures based on customer requirements, considering access methods, frequency, storage media, data volatility, and operating environments.
- Evaluating data sets and engineering solutions for integration into the Data Warehouse.
- Developing and maintaining user manuals and instructions to guide customers in executing data access functions, such as running queries and reports.
- Participating in multi‑functional teams and managing work through JIRA.
- Active Top‑Secret security clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an SCI.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CI POLY.
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant work experience (or 13+ years of experience in lieu of a degree).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with Oracle APEX and ORDS applications.
- Demonstrable proficiency in SQL and SQL Plus.
- Experience managing Oracle databases.
- Performance monitoring and optimization expertise.
- Knowledge of database security best practices, including role‑based access, encryption, auditing, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments and scripting in command‑line interfaces.
- Backup and disaster recovery planning familiarity with RMAN, Data Guard, and related strategies.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or Ansible.
An active Top Secret clearance is required. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Top Secret SCI clearance before the start date.
