You’ll support enterprise IT systems that contribute to critical government missions, connecting, protecting, and enhancing systems that matter most to help agencies operate smarter and more securely. As a Systems Administrator supporting an Intelligence customer in Springfield, VA
, you’ll play a meaningful role in ensuring today is safe and tomorrow is smarter.
- Work closely with onsite and remote users to support production systems and provide Tier 2/3 technical expertise.
- Administer desktop and server systems across local and wide area networks.
- Support account monitoring, system security, OS installation, and general system management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical issues.
- Provide day-to-day operations support, monitoring, and problem resolution for IT infrastructure.
- Install and maintain operating systems and application software.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues across systems and networks.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and software installations for Windows and Unix environments.
- Support linked databases, ensuring security, integrity, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Conduct routine and emergency maintenance of data center equipment.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance windows with impacted customers.
- Assist with backup and recovery planning and testing.
- Ensure systems meet STIG security compliance, using tools such as Retina and HBSS.
- Maintain operational documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Verify system availability using enterprise monitoring tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
- Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
. - Experience using trouble ticket and tracking systems (e.g., Service+).
- Ability to provide after-hours on-call support as needed.
- Strong ability to prioritize and perform under pressure.
- Willingness to earn CompTIA Security+ (or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent) and a Windows certification within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to deploy for up to 6 months if mission requires.
- Working knowledge of Windows and UNIX administration, hardware, storage, and networking.
Physical Requirements
- Travel expectation:
30–75% within the Washington Metropolitan area
, with occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel. - Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform occasional physical activity such as standing, climbing, kneeling, or crouching.
- Experience supporting imagery intelligence (IMINT) environments.
- Scripting experience across Windows, Linux, and Solaris platforms.
- Familiarity with customer production systems and workflows.
- Experience with tools such as ArcGIS, Socet GXP, or similar analytical platforms.
- Knowledge in technologies such as Windows Server, Red Hat, Solaris, Sybase, Informix, SQL, and imagery production chains.

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to skills and experience. The salary range for this position is typically $125-135k and may fall outside of this range based on factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements.
