A leading moving and relocation company in Springfield, VA is hiring a Senior Director of Moving Services to oversee and elevate its household goods and warehousing operations. This is a senior-level leadership role focused on day-to-day performance, strategic optimisation, and team development. If you’re an experienced operational leader in the moving sector, this is a chance to drive measurable impact across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead daily operations across moving services and warehousing divisions.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver on strategic goals and growth plans.
- Manage operations staff and monitor key metrics to drive team performance.
- Establish and refine SOPs that enhance efficiency, compliance, and service quality.
- Negotiate vendor, supplier, and carrier agreements to secure best value and service.
- Work closely with sales and marketing to align operational capacity with client demand.
- Ensure quality assurance standards are met across all service delivery points.
- Promote cross-departmental collaboration for seamless end-to-end service.
- Analyse operational data and adjust strategies to improve customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Oversee divisional budgeting, financial planning, and cost control measures.
- Lead staff development, training, and succession planning initiatives.
- Support special projects and directives from the executive leadership team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ leadership experience in moving, relocation, or warehousing operations.
- Deep understanding of household goods relocation processes and service models.
- Proven ability to lead teams, optimise performance, and drive strategic outcomes.
- Strong commercial acumen and vendor negotiation skills.
- Clear, confident communicator with strong organisational awareness.
