Security Policy and Capability Development Contractor
Our client is a regulated natural gas utility that has been providing safe, reliable energy service to residential, commercial, and industrial customers across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. The Security Policy and Capability Development Contractor will support the Chief Security Officer and security staff in enhancing the company's security posture by developing policies, procedures, and training programs. This is a Contract, Full-time position based in Springfield, Virginia, paying $45.00-$50.00 per hour.
Responsibilities- Review and revise existing security policies and procedures, and draft new policies and SOPs where gaps exist
- Develop and deliver security training modules for various employee tiers, including in-person and virtual sessions
- Support the development and integration of security capabilities such as threat response, insider risk mitigation, and counterintelligence awareness
- Create awareness materials, job aids, and evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness
- Collaborate with stakeholders across legal, HR, and operational units to ensure alignment and communicate security initiatives
- Provide regular progress reports and present findings to executive leadership
- Proven experience in corporate security policy and procedure development, and security training
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Experience with enterprise security capability development preferred
- Certifications related to security or cybersecurity are a plus
- Experience in regulated industries or energy/utilities sector is advantageous
