Cleared Armed Security Officer - Part Time
Patriot Group International Inc. is seeking a Cleared Armed Security Officer to join our team in the Springfield, VA or Culpeper, VA area. This role is part-time with a 12-hour Panama Schedule (Days / Midnights).
Location: Springfield, VA or Culpeper, VA
Clearance Required: Secret
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of one (1) year of security experience or one year of local, state, or federal law enforcement experience; or two (2) years of honorable military service
- Minimum age of 21
- Ability to complete a Virginia Security Guard License process (application, fingerprints, background)
- Ability to complete firearms training in compliance with Virginia requirements
- Reliable transportation
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, comprehension, and writing)
- Ability to pass pre-employment and periodic random drug screenings
- U.S. Citizenship
Required Security Clearance:
- Secret
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Virginia DCJS Security Guard license
- Two (2) years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
- Experience in security operations in highly secure facilities
- Knowledge of Lenel access control systems
- Handgun weapons proficiency
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and improve knowledge of written/oral post orders, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct
- Prevent unauthorized access by enforcing client and PGI policies, badge policies, and controlling keys/locks; inspect persons and equipment
- Provide security protection for personnel and property within the assigned area
- Report or respond to incidents, alarms, and safety concerns per post orders
- Monitor security cameras and electronic surveillance systems
- Guide and direct individuals on site
- Control physical and electronic locks and door access
- Perform testing and inspections related to access control, alarms, locks, and monitoring systems
- Prevent theft of physical or intellectual property
- Promote security policy awareness among client employees, vendors, and contractors
- Maintain professional standards of competency, conduct, appearance, and integrity in accordance with PGI and client policies
- Execute and deliver reports as assigned by the Site Manager
- Complete required pre-assignment, client, state, and PGI sustainment training
- Assist with collateral duties including armory and security equipment maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend at waist and knees
- Ability to perform a variety of training functions
- Walk on uneven surfaces, walk long distances, climb stairs
- Stand for 12-hour posts
