Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter/HVAC Technician to perform installation, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of mechanical piping systems across commercial and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience working with various piping materials and HVAC systems, possess a strong understanding of mechanical schematics and blueprints, and be committed to delivering high‑quality workmanship in compliance with safety and industry standards.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Install, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems carrying water, steam, air, gas, chemicals, and other fluids in commercial and industrial environments.
- Work with a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, plastic piping, and other specialized materials.
- Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical and plumbing systems to identify and resolve leaks, blockages, corrosion, or equipment failures.
- Replace or repair damaged or faulty piping, valves, pumps, and fixtures to ensure system integrity and performance.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity of mechanical systems.
- Assemble piping using welding, brazing, soldering, threading, grooving, and mechanical fittings with appropriate tools and equipment.
- Install and commission mechanical service piping systems including HVAC, chilled water, steam, compressed air, fire protection, and other process piping.
- Conduct pressure tests to detect leaks and verify system alignment and compliance with design and performance standards.
- Read and interpret piping blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and building plans to guide work.
- Coordinate system layouts, installations, and repairs with other trades and construction teams to meet project timelines and specifications.
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of relevant hands‑on experience in mechanical maintenance and repair.
- Completion of a formal training program in mechanical technology or a related field.
- Proficient in diagnosing mechanical issues using diagnostic tools such as pressure gauges and factory manuals.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and solve moderately complex mechanical problems.
- A Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
- Associate degree or vocational certification in mechanical technology or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical systems.
- Advanced troubleshooting and failure analysis skills.
- Experience working with both hydraulic and pneumatic systems in industrial settings.
- Knowledge of energy‑efficient mechanical systems and technologies.
- Familiarity with project management principles as they relate to repair timelines and parts procurement.
- Demonstrated understanding of quality control standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong safety record and knowledge of relevant occupational safety standards.
