Location: Springfield, VA

The St. James Performance Academy is seeking a Head Softball Coach to lead our elite Academy softball team. This role is responsible for the overall development, training, and competitive success of high-performance athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all aspects of the Academy softball program, including year-round training and competitive schedules.
• Develop individualized athlete development plans, including technical, tactical, physical, and mental preparation.
• Facilitate college recruiting and advancement through strong national softball network connections.
• Recruit, hire, and mentor coaching staff to ensure consistent training standards.
• Represent The St. James professionally within the softball community.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5+ years coaching/program leadership experience (3+ at Head or senior level).
• Proven track record of athlete development and college-level placements.
• Advanced knowledge of softball techniques, systems, and competitive pathways.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand, walk, and demonstrate softball skills for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry training equipment (up to 50 lbs).
• Participate in drills, conditioning, and on-field demonstrations.

Background Requirements:

• Must successfully complete a background check.
• Valid USA Softball or other relevant coaching certifications preferred.
