Full-Time Lifeguard – Department of Safety and Rescue
Morning Shift | Mon–Fri | 5:00am – 1:30pm
Looking to elevate your lifeguarding career? The St. James Department of Safety and Rescue is hiring a full-time, morning lifeguard to join our award-winning team.
Why This Role MattersThis isn’t an entry-level post—it’s for lifeguards who want to take their skills to the next level. Morning lifeguards work with little to no direct supervision, maintaining vigilant surveillance of aquatic activities while also serving as first responders to medical emergencies across our 450,000 sq. ft. sports and wellness complex. You’ll gain experience that bridges aquatic safety and emergency response, preparing you for higher-level certifications and leadership opportunities.
What We Offer- $16.75/hr starting pay with overtime potential

- Experienced lifeguard with valid certification (or ability to requalify)
- Strong swimming ability and confidence in independent decision-making
- Calm under pressure, with proven emergency response skills
- Additional certifications (CPO, EMR, EMT) strongly preferred
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 05:00–13:30
Pay: $16.75/hr + certification bonuses + overtime opportunities
