Position Overview

The Director of Franchise Development is a pivotal role focused on driving sales and business growth through the recruitment and onboarding of new franchisees. This position reports directly to the VP of Franchise Development and is responsible for executing strategic franchise sales plans, lead generation, relationship building, negotiation, and contract finalization. The director collaborates cross-functionally with legal, marketing, and operational teams to ensure a seamless process from lead identification to franchise establishment.

A proven track record in franchise sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a team are essential for success in this role. The director’s contribution is crucial in achieving the company’s expansion goals and maintaining the growth of the franchise network. In-person in office 4 days per week preferred, but remote options could be considered for the right candidate.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the growth of Five Star Franchising franchise network, acting as ambassador for our brands and long-term vision for our systems
  • Guiding, educating and nurturing candidates through the Five Star franchise sales process from initial contact through contract negotiation
  • Identifying and targeting potential franchisees, including via prospect list-building, industry events, online searches, etc.
  • Qualifying franchise candidates to determine their fit with Five Stars target attributes
  • Collaborating with the Five Star executive and marketing teams to develop franchise recruitment campaigns
  • Analyzing and reporting sales metrics and adjusting strategies as needed to achieve sales goals
  • Work closely with the Five Star Administrative team to ensure that all franchise agreements are properly executed

Skills & Qualifications
  • Network & market with franchise consultant groups to generate leads.
  • Manage lead flow and track sales process utilizing Franchise Sales Software (Sales Force) or CRM system.
  • Guide the application process, perform due diligence, partner with legal to review legal documents, negotiate terms and coordinate the timely flow of documents to reach the final documents signing.
  • Participate in Meet the Team Days at Brand headquarters as necessary.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the brand in order to communicate the opportunity to potential Franchisees.
  • Attend applicable trade shows and conferences.
  • Conduct sales processes to ensure adherence to federal & state regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve franchise development goals for activity and results.
Education & Experience
  • 5 years of proven franchise sales experience utilizing a consultative selling approach.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Passionate with a positive attitude.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership in their role.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and interface with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in franchise recruitment, driving organic lead performance and working with broker networks.
  • Skills with CRM sales management software.
  • Travel as needed to all broker and industry conferences
