An established and growing construction contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Hertfordshire. The business delivers a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects across the residential, education, healthcare and commercial sectors, with project values ranging up to £10 million.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor looking to work on varied projects, take ownership of schemes from pre-construction through to final account, and contribute to the continued growth of a successful regional contractor.

• Assisting managing the commercial aspects of multiple construction projects.
• Assisting preparing cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation.
• Assisting procuring subcontractors and negotiating contract terms.
• Assisting valuing and processing subcontractor applications and payments.
• Assisting managing variations, change control, and contractual correspondence.
• Assisting producing accurate cost reports and forecasts.
• Assisting monitoring project expenditure and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Supporting project teams to ensure successful commercial outcomes.
• Assisting negotiating and agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.

• Ideally 2-3 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Knowledge of JCT contracts and construction procurement processes.
• Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Relevant construction-related qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent).
