Year 6 Teaching Assistant – St Albans (Immediate Start)

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in St Albans.

Responsibilities:

• Morning support:
  Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with autism who attends on a part‑time (half‑day) basis.
• Afternoon support:
  Working as a general Teaching Assistant across Year 6, supporting pupils in preparation for SATs.
• Delivering targeted interventions in Maths, English and Science.
• The position is available until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience supporting pupils with autism (essential).
• Have experience working within KS2, ideally Year 6.
• Be confident delivering small group and 1:1 interventions.
• Be proactive, patient and committed to supporting pupil progress.

Requirements:

• Available Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm.
• Hold a valid DBS, or be willing to apply for one.
• Experience working with children who have special educational needs.
• Live in or be able to commute easily to St Albans.
• You must be a UK resident or hold a full UK visa and be willing to complete a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.

Pay rate is dependent on qualifications, experience and skills.
