HLTA – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing from September 2026

This HLTA role offers a full‑time, long‑term temporary and ongoing opportunity from September 2026, supporting pupils across a Year 2 and Year 3 setting. The HLTA will deliver high‑quality learning support, working closely with class teachers to maintain continuity, structure and progress across Lower Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 1 transition. The role is ideal for an experienced HLTA who enjoys responsibility, variety and making a meaningful impact on pupils’ learning and confidence.
Dutiesas HLTA:
- Deliver learning activities for Year 2 and Year 3 pupils under the direction of the class teacher.
- Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
- Cover classes when required, ensuring continuity of teaching and learning.
- Support planning, preparation and assessment activities as directed.
- Assist with monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teaching staff.
- Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, well‑managed classroom environment.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants and wider staff.
- Support transitions between lessons and activities.
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare and health and safety responsibilities at all times.
- Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience supporting or delivering learning in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
- Confident leading lessons and working independently when required.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Adaptable, organised and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Salary – dependent on experience – is paid weekly through PAYE.
