Science Graduate Teaching Assistant - St. Albans
Location:
St. Albans
Salary: £95-£120 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type:
Full-time, Term-time only
Start Date:
September 2026
We are recruiting a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics within a secondary school.
Key Responsibilities- Support Science lessons across KS3-KS5
- Assist in practical experiments and laboratory sessions
- Deliver targeted intervention sessions to small groups and individuals
- Help prepare laboratory equipment and ensure health and safety compliance
- Support teachers in tracking student progress and attainment
- A degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related Science subject
- Strong subject knowledge across scientific disciplines
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for working with young people in education
- Lab or school experience is desirable but not essential
- Ideal pathway into teacher training (PGCE, School Direct, etc.)
- Hands‑on classroom and laboratory experience
- Training and ongoing school support
