A specialist educational setting in St. Albans is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and experienced SEN Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis starting in September. As an SEN Teacher in St. Albans, you will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities - SEN Teacher, St. Albans- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of SEN pupils
- Support students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to maximise pupil outcomes
- Monitor, assess, and track student progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary
- Support pupils' emotional wellbeing, confidence, and personal development
- Liaise effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals to provide consistent support
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs
- Strong understanding of SEN strategies and behaviour management
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
