Unqualified Teaching Assistant

We are partnering with a supportive and inclusive special school in St Albans, seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils aged 2-19 with severe and profound learning difficulties and complex needs, helping them engage in learning and develop independence.

• Provide classroom, 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupils' individual needs.
• Support pupils with personal care, maintaining their dignity and encouraging independence.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities.
• Support pupils with communication, sensory and physical needs, using a patient and consistent approach.
• Observe pupils' progress and share feedback with teachers.

• Previous experience working with children with SEND or in a relevant care setting (reference required).
• Ability to swim desirable
• A patient, proactive and caring approach, with confidence supporting pupils with complex needs and managing behaviour positively.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• The ability to commute to St Albans or live locally.
