A well-established charitable organisation is seeking an Assistant Reporting Accountant to join their finance team. This permanent position offers you the chance to work remotely while supporting a network of properties across the country. Job Responsibilities
- You will prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness across all accounts.
- You will maintain and update the fixed asset register, tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation schedules in line with organisational policies.
- You will manage VAT returns using the partial exemption special method agreed for charities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and supporting audit requirements.
- You will collaborate closely with cost centre managers to produce detailed month-end reports, including accruals, prepayments, and cost centre analysis for support services.
- You will interrogate large volumes of financial data using advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and SUMIFS to identify discrepancies and drive improvements.
- You will utilise Docu Ware and QL systems to process financial transactions efficiently and accurately, maintaining robust documentation for all entries.
- You will support business partnering activities by providing insightful financial analysis and recommendations to key stakeholders throughout the organisation.
- You have at least two to three years' experience in a similar assistant accountant or reporting accountant role within a medium or large organisation.
- Your background includes hands‑on responsibility for preparing balance sheet reconciliations and managing fixed asset registers.
- You possess practical experience completing VAT returns using partial exemption methods specific to charities or not-for-profit entities.
