HSBC Corporate Banking in the UK provides both domestic and international commercial banking services to our existing and prospective clients. Clients typically have a turnover of £15m to £350m.
The Relationship Support Analyst role assists Relationship Directors (RDs) in building relationships by identifying and meeting existing and prospective customer needs. The analyst is responsible for identifying product and service opportunities, conducting customer research, performing financial and credit analysis, and helping the RD prepare for customer meetings. Other fundamental parts of the role include the coordination of credit applications or renewals, risk‑escalation management and acting as the focal point for client relationships, products and services in the absence of the RD.
Responsibilities- Provide support to RDs to optimise the potential value of client relationships, improve engagement and deliver needs‑based solutions and fair outcomes for customers.
- Enable proactive client management by attending meetings with RDs as necessary and acting as the first point of contact for daily credit‑related enquiries.
- Prepare analysis, proposals and presentations for prospective customers; support the RD on day‑to‑day activities such as client planning, pipeline management, coordination with product partners, and ensure data and call reports are accurately and timely updated.
- Undertake financial, credit and profitability analysis and prepare the accounts remarks.
- Collaborate with group colleagues to deliver appropriate needs‑based solutions.
- Work closely with Service Delivery, coordinate the end‑to‑end credit process, review deliverables and resolve issues.
- Monitor credit risk, including concern lists and credit‑control reports, and analyse management information.
- Commercial banking experience is advantageous but not essential.
- A track record of understanding customers' needs and delivering excellent customer service is essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience of adapting style to audience and message.
- Experience of organising and prioritising workload, managing time effectively and meeting strict deadlines is essential.
- Ability to understand and interpret financial data and undertake credit analysis is preferred.
- Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in the financial services sector.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages is essential.
This is a hybrid position with the base location being either Milton Keynes or St Albans. Clients are predominantly located across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The working week will include a mix of home and office-based work, with occasional client visits. Candidates should be within easy commuting distance of this region.
