the Division
Cingularity is a division of IMG Studios that specialises in bespoke live video networking and production solutions. It operates at each stage of the remote production workflow, delivering quality network designs and primary distribution services to premium broadcast networks and sports rights holders globally. IMG acquired Cingularity in September 2022 to guide its remote production evolution toward a hybrid model of fibre, satellite, cloud and IP.

The Senior Network Engineer (Net Ops) at Cingularity is a pivotal role demanding technical expertise and innovative thinking. As a core member of our engineering team you will design, build and maintain complex infrastructure that powers mission‑critical transmission systems and bridge the gap between traditional networking methodologies and modern Net Ops practices. You will take ownership of our core networking infrastructure—including a specialised DTM (Dynamic Synchronous Transfer Mode) network—while strategically introducing automation to enhance resilience and performance.
While you will assist with the development of observability tools, 24/7 monitoring is managed by our Technical Operations Centre (TOC) with support from Systems, Broadcast and Network Engineering teams.
- Core Routing & Switching:
Design and operate distributed systems with advanced OSPF and BGP. - Multicast Routing:
Maintain expertise in multicast routing to ensure efficient data delivery across broadcast environments. - DTM Specialisation:
Manage and optimise the DTM network to meet the demands of live broadcast. - Global Telemetry:
Refine a global telemetry network to ensure consistent data flow and visibility across all international transmission points. - Capacity Planning:
Manage network capacity and advise on hardware/bandwidth upgrades for business growth and customer projects. - Traffic Forwarding:
Ensure optimal performance and data integrity for high‑availability, scalable systems used for critical live content broadcasting.
- Infrastructure Security:
Own network security and implement best practices for access control and protection. - Firmware & Lifecycle Management:
Execute regular firmware upgrades, patching and maintenance across network hardware. - System Hardening:
Implement network‑level hardening to protect mission‑critical transmission paths.
- Internal Tooling:
Build and refine monitoring techniques for our internal TOC and Event Engineering teams. - Observability Design:
Assist in modern monitoring and logging systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Open Search and maintain Netbox as the source of truth. - Automation Development:
Implement automation strategies for infrastructure management using Ansible, Python and shell scripting. - Methodology Modernisation:
Lead transition from manual workflows to automated Net Ops processes to reduce intervention and improve efficiency.
