Manufacturing Technician

Apply for the Manufacturing Technician role at Baxter International Inc.

This role is based at our Elstree site and focuses on manufacturing bone hemostats, a synthetic bone graft material for surgeons. The site has 40 employees, so while part of a global company you will be part of a close‑knit team.

Work schedule:

Monday to Friday 07:30‑16:00, with one Saturday 06:00‑14:00, 40 hours per week. No shift work. Salary: £28,000 to £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience). Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays. Company shutdown between Christmas and New Year.

• Generate batch documentation as appropriate.
• Undertake tasks as allocated on the manufacturing plan including basic cleanroom maintenance checks.
• Complete transactions on a computerized ERP system.
• Inform Senior Manufacturing Technician/Supervisor if allocated tasks are not completed.
• Carry out other duties as allocated outside the manufacturing process and use own initiative to find/complete other work.
• Complete training of basic manufacturing processes.
• Consistently establish and maintain priorities to complete tasks and projects within timelines.
• Maintain accurate record keeping and good housekeeping.
• Report any errors or issues to QA and manufacturing leadership team.
• Ensure own training record is kept up to date and BAXU modules completed on time.
• Ensure the management team and appropriate team members are aware of issues or potential issues in a timely manner.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Attend and participate in operations department meetings.
• Work cohesively with other team members to achieve target outputs.
• Promote a strong teamwork environment and cooperate across departments to resolve issues.
• Participate in quality improvement and process waste elimination efforts by supporting continuous improvement ideas.

• GCSE Level Standard or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to work as part of a cross‑functional team.
• Background in manufacturing, ideally in a highly regulated environment.
• Knowledge of SOPs and non‑conformances would be an advantage but not essential.
