Responsibilities
  • Taking responsibility for the well‑being of residents and ensuring their physical, emotional and social needs are met.
  • Coaching and guiding the team, providing formal and informal teaching programmes for colleagues and other care professionals.
  • Carrying out assessments and developing, implementing and evaluating individualised care plans for each resident.
  • Monitoring work areas and practices to ensure safety, compliance with relevant standards, policies and legislation.
  • Managing the unit alongside clinical duties, overseeing care, administering and ordering medication, reviewing and evaluating care plans, and providing clinical guidance.
  • Supporting CQC tasks and ensuring policies and standards are maintained at a high clinical standard.
  • Maintaining effective communication and reporting skills for handover of clinical issues to team members and other health care professionals.
  • When working alone, applying strong critical thinking, self‑reliance, and calmness in emergency situations.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin.
  • Experience managing a unit and performing clinical duties in a care home environment.
  • Strong clinical guidance and leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently while ensuring patient safety.
  • Previous experience with CQC compliance and clinical standards.
