Internal Sales Executive - Freight and Logistics

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Holiday entitlement: 22 days plus Bank Holidays Our client, a well-established freight and logistics company based in St Albans, is looking for an energetic and commercially minded Internal Sales Executive to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and supportive business where your contribution will be recognised and valued. Previous logistics experience is not essential, as training and mentoring can be provided to candidates with the right attitude and transferable skills.

Working as part of a team of five, you will develop relationships with new and existing clients, prepare quotations and convert sales opportunities into new business. Main duties of the Internal Sales Executive:
Maximise the potential of new and existing clients, primarily through outbound telephone engagement. Build strong working relationships with prospective and existing customers. Identify and develop new sales opportunities. Negotiate effectively with clients and suppliers. Prepare and submit competitive quotations. Follow up quotations, overcome objections and convert opportunities into business. Explain the customs formalities required when shipping goods into and out of the European Union.

Manage and develop existing customer accounts. Attend weekly sales meetings. Participate in client meetings through Microsoft Teams or face-to-face when required. The successful Internal Sales Executive will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a confident telephone manner and a genuine interest in sales, commerce, customer service and logistics. Skills and experience required for this role: A friendly and confident telephone manner.

A positive attitude and genuine desire to succeed. The confidence to make outbound sales calls and develop new business. The ability to build lasting relationships with clients. Good organisational and account-management skills. Previous experience in sales, customer service or account management would be advantageous.
