A leading fire and security integrator is seeking a skilled Estimator to join its design team, focusing exclusively on physical security systems for data centre projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong commercial and technical insight who thrives in high-security, mission-critical environments.
About the RoleAs an Estimator, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale physical security installations. You’ll collaborate with the design team, project managers, and commercial leads to ensure proposals are commercially viable, technically sound, and aligned with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for access control, CCTV, and perimeter protection systems
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and client requirements
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and technical input
- Identify risk, value engineering opportunities, and compliance considerations
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and bid strategy development
- Experience as an Estimator in physical security or related M&E sectors
- Solid understanding of access control, CCTV, and perimeter security technologies
- Familiarity with data centre environments is highly desirable
- Proficiency in estimating software (, Con Quest, Causeway, Excel)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Based in or near Letchworth Garden City (or willing to commute)
- Experience with C
• CURE and Lenel systems is desirable but not essential. - These are widely used access control platforms, and familiarity is a plus—but happy to train the right candidate with strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
