Position: Blue Carbon Summer Programme 2026 in Scotland (Fully Funded)

To all aspiring students interested in blue carbon science and policy, do you want to have an immersive experience this summer at one of the leading institutions in the United Kingdom? Well, if it’s a Yes! Here is an exciting opportunity: the University of St. Andrews, one of the oldest higher education institutions in the UK, known for its education in Arts, Science, Medicine, and Divinity
, has announced the applications for its flagship “Blue Carbon Summer Programme 2026”. It’s an intensive 2-week summer course for international students delivered through the University’s Blue Carbon Academy.

The two-week course features field work, Lab analysis, and mentorship from renowned global experts. The Institute invites applications from Undergraudate and Postgraduate students with an interest in the Blue Carbon science and policy frameworks. The duration of the course is 2 weeks, scheduled to take place at St Scotland from June 6th to 20th, 2026. The Institute, in partnership with the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), offers 6 fully funded scholarships to talented students to participate in the summer program.

The scholarships are awarded based on students’ academic excellence

Eligiblity Criteria
  • The summer course is open to all nationals
  • The course is designed for students (Undergraduate, Postgraduate) and early career professionals passionate about carbon science and policy frameworks
  • Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application
  • For students, they must have completed one year of their degree program
  • Demonstrate excellent academic achievements
  • Proof of English profiency

Criteria for WWF Scholarship:

  • Students must have excellent academic standing
  • Preference is given to the students from the Global South
  • Selected scholars will represent the institutes in events
How to Apply for the Blue Carbon Summer Course?

The application process is online via offical University website. Complete the course application and submit. Students who wish to apply for the WWF scholarship have to submit an additional scholarship application form. The last date for the submission of the scholarship application is March 4th, 2026 (23:59 UK Time).
