Are you an experienced Building Management System engineer looking for a varied role where you can make a real impact across a diverse and complex estate?
We are seeking a Building Management Systems (BMS) Operations Engineer to join the Estates BMS Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a keyrole in the operation, optimisation and continual improvement of the University's Siemens Desigo CC Building Management System.
Working as part of the BMS team, you will play a pivotal role to ensurethe University's BMS operates reliably, efficiently and effectively. The role combines fault finding, software modifications, system optimisation,performance monitoring and hands-on engineering activities, providing the opportunity to make a real impact on building performance, energy efficiency and operational resilience across the estate.
The University of St Andrews has a diverse estate of almost 100connected buildings with over 40,000 monitoring points, from historic listed properties that are hundreds of years old to state-of-the-art teaching,research and residential facilities. The BMS plays a vital role in maintaining comfortable, safe and energy efficient environments throughout the estate.
The role is responsible for the day-to-day operational performance of Building Management Systems across the University estate, ensuring faults,maintenance activities and operational issues are identified, prioritised and progressed through to resolution. You will use system data, trends and operational insight to improve performance, reduce reactive maintenance and support the University's sustainability and Net Zero ambitions.
We are looking for someone with extensive practical experience configuring, commissioning, modifying, fault finding and optimising Building Management Systems, together with a strong understanding of HVAC systems,control theory and building services engineering. Experience with Siemens systems would be advantageous, although applicants with experience in other BMSplatforms who can quickly develop competence within the University's Siemens environment are encouraged to apply.
