Job Summary

The RN is responsible for providing nursing care to patients in a professional and courteous manner. Duties include carrying out physician orders, assisting with procedures, administering injections, performing phlebotomy, taking patient calls, cleaning and stocking exam rooms, calling in prescriptions, coordinating supply levels, pre‑certifying medical services, and assisting the physician with all other patient care as requested.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Carolina
  • Current CPR certification
  • Basic first aid knowledge
Essential Functions
  • Maintains a positive attitude and fosters harmonious relationships with personnel in other departments.
  • Demonstrates appropriate communication of information to patients of all ages; includes Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age ranges.
  • Responds to all patients and office staff requests and needs.
  • Performs duties assigned by authorized personnel or in an emergency (e.g., fire or disaster).
  • Provides/Performs communication, scheduling, medical records, and laboratory functions, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, proficiency testing, and results reporting.
  • Performs medication management (IV push, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, oral, topical, suppository, sublingual, inhalants) and orders/maintains drug levels.
  • Exhibits leadership by supporting and guiding clinical policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Medication Management – Intravenously (RN only);
    Subcutaneously, intramuscular, intradermal;
    Oral, topical, suppository, sublingual, inhalants;
    Storage & handling.
  • Patient Care – Exam room preparation and maintenance, patient interview, chaperone assistance, minor procedures, triage, physician order implementation, patient education, results reporting, clinical documentation.
  • Equipment Operation – Routine maintenance, ordering of supplies, log sheets, and cleaning, including general office equipment (fax, copier) and specialized equipment (X‑ray, ultrasound, treadmill, lab processing, laser, defibrillator, pacemaker).
  • In‑service/Education – Certification/licensure, competency, orientation, annual training.
  • Log Sheets/Audits – Samples, pharmacy, emergency equipment, oxygen.
  • Instrument Management – Stock, cleaning/sterilization, storage usage.
  • Leadership – Supports clinical policies, procedural guidance.
