The University of St Andrews is currently seeking an ambitious and dynamic individual for the position of Security and Response Officer within the University Security and Response Team. Reporting to a Security and Response Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring that the University is a safe and secure environment for the students and staff that live and work here, as well as for visitors.

Working across and beyond the University Estate, duties will include ensuring that our buildings are secure,alarms and causes for concern are responded to appropriately, and that technology such as CCTV, incident recording system and digital radio / telephony system are utilised effectively.

Training will be provided during deployment, as part of a probationary period. Postholders will be required toundergo and pass training in an accredited Emergency First Aid course and Higher Education Safety and Security.

The post holder will be required to work as part of a team providing a 24/7, all year-round service working a 12-hour day shift / night shift pattern. In addition to the basic salary, a Premium Hours Payment of an additional 1/3rd time is paid for hours worked between 10 pm and 6 am where those hours are not subject to any other overtime rate.

This equates to an approximate 11% uplift in salary which is reflected in theon-target earnings shown.

Weekend and festive period working is required.
