Key Responsibilities- Ensuring that all activities are conducted in accordance with company operating procedures.
- Providing guidance in the development of procedures to accommodate a changing environment.
- Supporting Operations in achieving an environment of continuous improvement through identifying best practice and championing changes working closely with Process Engineers.
- Leading Quality Root Cause and Corrective actions through Quality methods such as 8D, A3 and providing a supporting role for the completion of Fast responses using Fishbone, 3‑legged 5‑Why.
- Managing department MRB process and reporting of key issues and late MRB tickets.
- Managing the Nonconformities related to the responsible area and providing support and guidance to employees on effective corrective actions.
- Producing Right‑First‑Time data.
- Publishing results and utilising them to direct efforts and focus.
- Liaising with all areas of the business, at all levels, together with suppliers and customers in resolving product quality related issues.
- Conducting layered process audits and, where applicable, AS9100D internal audits to demonstrate compliance with procedures, processes and other requirements.
- Attending various business/product reviews to ensure the business addresses all aspects of the requirement to the satisfaction of the customer.
- Building effective working relationships internally and externally.
- Verification processes to AS9102 (FAI), AS9145 (PPAP) or similar risk mitigation and analysis (FMEA – PFMEA/DFMEA).
- A high standard of formal education (preferably to HNC level or equivalent).
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality requirements.
- A time‑served background in an engineering discipline.
- An understanding of metrology (optical/mechanical) and problem‑solving tools/techniques.
- Fully competent in the use of PCs (Microsoft Office Applications); detailed technical report generation will be required.
- Excellent communication skills, a methodical approach to work, and proven attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work under pressure to achieve demanding objectives.
- Extensive knowledge of Qioptiq products and processes, together with an understanding of the Qioptiq Management System.
- Familiarity with auditing techniques; training will be provided if required.
- Quality Assurance experience within a precision manufacturing environment.
