Bank Registered Nurse

Bank post on the nurse bank run by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, filled across its district general and community hospitals in North Wales. The work centres on assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating evidence-based nursing care for patients and their families, with some clinical area management and supervision of other staff. Shifts are flexible and set around the nurse's availability, and Welsh is desirable but not required.

Fit depends on NMC registration and a clear grasp of consent and contract-of-care processes.

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing care
• Work collaboratively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families
• Assist in managing and organising the clinical area
• Take part in the education, development and supervision of other staff

• NMC registration

• Evidence of pre-registration direct nursing care
• Experience of providing holistic nursing care
• Interest in developing nursing skills

• Understanding of the contract of care
• Understanding of the consent process
• Documenting details clearly and accurately
• Basic IT skills
• Communicating effectively
• Working under pressure

• Post-registration study and training, such as POVA, child protection or ILS where the clinical setting requires it
• Understanding of the clinical governance framework
• Implementing evidence-based practice
• Knowledge of the incident reporting policy
• Welsh speaker
