University of St.Gallen invites applications for a PhD Position “Foundation Models & Efficient LLM Training” in the DS-NLP Lab. The 100% position is funded and begins on 01.11.2026.
You will pursue your doctoral thesis on foundation model training and efficient learning methods and participate in teaching (≈2 SWS per semester). You will design research on training dynamics of LLMs, study scaling, optimization and token weighting, and contribute to organizational and research tasks.
