System Architect Optics

YOUR MAIN TASKS:
  • Definition and System architecture of optical consumer products, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Translate product requirements and consumer needs into comprehensive system specifications
  • Lead of technical definition, architecture, and roadmap of advanced optical systems for consumer products (multifunctional observation devices)
  • Lead system-level integration activities, mainly balancing optical, mechanical requirements
  • Specify and validate system interfaces across multidisciplinary teams (optical, mechanical, electronic, firmware/software)
  • Serve as a technical reference for internal and external stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle and serialization
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and innovations in optical science, materials, and technologies
YOUR PROFILE:
  • Master Degree in Physics, Optics or related field (ETH or equivalent, University of Applied Sciences)
  • At least 3 years' proven experience in optical product development and system-level architecture, particularly for consumer products
  • Proven experience in optical design of imaging systems (preferably visual optics), knowledge of laser range finder is a plus
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and collaborating across project phases
  • Strong team spirit as well as excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in development methods and system engineering tools
  • Fluency in German and English
