Product Manager – BU SEMI in Product Line Control Valves

We at VAT Group AG, headquartered in Switzerland, are looking for a talented and passionate Product Manager Product Line Control Valves to join our team/SEMI BU in Haag, Switzerland. You will manage key technical interfaces with SEMI OEM customers and oversee the full product lifecycle of dedicated product series, including development, customization, pricing, forecasting, and phase‑out. You will translate OEM roadmaps into product requirements to support VAT’s global growth, while driving profitability, value engineering.

In this role, you will also support sales activities, coordinate customer‑specific requirements across the organization, define technical documentation, and contribute to product and technology roadmaps, including smart features and controller strategies in close collaboration with internal teams.

Responsibilities
  • Own the interface with a major SEMI OEM customer for all technical aspects.
  • Own dedicated product series and manage the full product life cycle (development, phase‑in, continuous improvement projects, customization, phase‑out, pricing, forecasting, training, marketing documentation).
  • Identify OEM technical roadmaps and drive current and future product requirements to protect and increase VAT’s global share of wallet.
  • Monitor profitability of OEM accounts and define measures to sustain and increase account profitability.
  • Lead continuous improvement and value‑engineering projects, including cost‑down initiatives and product relocation activities.
  • Support VAT sales entities in customer acquisition, negotiations, and technical alignment.
  • Train sales engineers and customers in close cooperation with field application engineering teams.
  • Create and maintain technical customer documentation such as manuals and product data sheets in line with European machinery directives.
  • Coordinate customer‑specific requirements across VAT business units and legal entities for engineering and operational implementation.
  • Shape both product and technology roadmaps to enable future integration of advanced technologies into the portfolio.
  • Drive the implementation of smart features to enhance the control valve portfolio and system integration capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with the mechatronics department to define and shape controller strategies and future development needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic or mechatronic engineering;
    Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems; additional background in economics or marketing is a plus.
  • Experience in product management within the vacuum industry.
  • Strong knowledge of sales processes for high‑tech components in global, highly competitive markets.
  • Proven entrepreneurial mindset with strategic thinking and experience in defining product roadmaps.
  • Experience managing key accounts and complex stakeholder environments.

    Knowledge of the semiconductor industry and its processes.
  • Solid understanding of electronics (hardware and software).
  • Experience managing international customers and cross‑functional projects.
  • Ability to monitor market developments and translate them into product and business requirements.
  • Fluent English, with strong negotiation skills in spoken and written communication.
