Lab Development Engineer - R&D semiconductor

For our client, an internationally active company in the high-tech manufacturing sector, we are looking for an experienced Lab Engineer for a permanent position in the R&D environment. You will work in a highly innovative setting focused on automation and semiconductor technologies.

• You have completed a technical apprenticeship as an Automation Technician (EFZ) or an equivalent qualification, ideally complemented by further education in systems engineering, mechatronics, robotics or electrical engineering (HF/FH/University)
• You bring at least five years of experience in software development using TwinCAT (Beckhoff) with Structured Text and have strong know-how in PLC-based control systems
• You are experienced in designing electrical schematics and working with hardware systems, as well as conducting verification and validation testing
• You have a structured, analytical and solution-oriented mindset combined with a hands-on and proactive approach to your work
• You communicate confidently in English;
  German skills are an advantage
• You design and implement automated testing environments for product verification and validation within R&D projects
• You develop and integrate PLC-based control systems, including component selection, configuration and programming for complex automation solutions
• You collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and high-quality system solutions
• You plan and execute tests in accordance with internal, customer and industry standards to ensure product quality
• You create technical documentation across all project phases and support commissioning as well as second-level technical support
