Procurement Manager

Are you a commercially driven procurement professional who knows how to get results when supplier negotiations get tough?

We are recruiting a Global Procurement Manager to join the international procurement team of a leading manufacturing business.

This is not a procurement role focused on simply managing existing supplier relationships. You will take ownership of complex commercial negotiations, cost optimisation and strategic sourcing across technically demanding direct material categories.

You will be joining an environment where supplier options can be limited, margins matter and procurement decisions have a direct impact on business performance.

Working across an international supplier network, you will have significant responsibility for supplier negotiations and commercial performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading negotiations with global suppliers across direct material categories
• Identifying and delivering measurable cost reduction and value improvement opportunities
• Managing RFQs, supplier quotations and commercial benchmarking
• Challenging supplier pricing and cost structures using market and commercial insight
• Identifying, evaluating and developing alternative sourcing opportunities
• Managing supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery and commercial risk
• Monitoring commodity markets, supply chain developments and emerging risks
• Supporting sourcing and supplier strategies that strengthen security of supply
• Partnering with engineering, technical and manufacturing teams to achieve commercial objectives

We are particularly interested in procurement professionals who have operated in automotive or similarly demanding, fast-paced manufacturing environments.

You should bring experience in several of the following areas:

• Direct materials procurement within an international manufacturing environment
• Complex supplier negotiations where commercial leverage may be limited
• Delivering demonstrable cost savings without compromising continuity of supply
• Procuring technically complex raw materials, components or engineered products
• Working within demanding cost, margin and performance targets
• Managing supplier and supply chain risk
• Building strong relationships with suppliers while being prepared to challenge commercially
• Using market intelligence, benchmarking and cost analysis to support negotiations and sourcing decisions

You will need to be commercially astute, confident in negotiation and persistent when faced with challenging supplier situations.
