Production Team Leader Welding Purpose of the Role

The Production Team Leader Welding plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and high‑quality execution of welding operations within the production environment. By leading and developing a team of skilled operators, this role contributes directly to operational excellence, product quality, and on‑time delivery, while fostering a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset in line with VAT’s standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, organize, and coordinate daily welding operations to meet production plans, deadlines, and performance targets.
  • Supervise and support the welding team, ensuring clear task allocation, performance feedback, and ongoing development.
  • Ensure strict adherence to welding procedures, quality standards, and technical specifications.
  • Promote and enforce workplace safety regulations, conducting regular checks and addressing potential risks proactively.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production Planning teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Foster a positive team environment that encourages accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
Qualifications
  • Fluency in German is mandatory;
    English language skills are considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • High safety and quality orientation.
