Counselor Position Elementary

Join St. George's Elementary as a School Counsellor, leading guidance initiatives that support student well-being. This full-time position focuses on assessments, counseling, and fostering a safe learning environment.

As a School Counsellor, you will lead the creation of a comprehensive guidance program tailored to student needs.

Your role includes implementing assessments and collaborating with educators to promote student success while responding to critical incidents or trauma. Building strong relationships with students, parents, and the community will be pivotal in providing effective support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of the school guidance program

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions

• Implement formal assessments of student achievement

• Collaborate with staff on student development

• Participate in crisis management and response planning

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education and Master's in Counseling Psychology

• NL Teaching Certificate – Level IV or higher

• Understanding of diverse learning needs and child development

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Commitment to professional development
