1:1 Relational Teaching | Flexible Hours | Immediate Start
Are you an Early Years teacher looking for a role that truly values connection, creativity, and care — while bringing back work-life balance?
We’re seeking nurturing EYFS educators in St Helens to work one-to-one with young children outside mainstream education. Using play-based, relational approaches, you’ll support early learning, emotional development, and help children prepare for a smooth transition back into school or nursery.
Teaching takes place in safe, welcoming settings such as students’ homes, local libraries, or community centres.
Due to the nature of the role and the age of the children, although rare, supporting personal care needs is not unheard of and is always handled sensitively and respectfully.
Why this role?
This position offers flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle, a chance to bring back work-life balance, and competitive pay of £26–£30 per hour. You’ll work meaningfully, free from the pressures of crowded classrooms and heavy workloads.
Key responsibilities:
* Deliver personalised, play-led sessions focusing on early phonics, communication, and emotional literacy
* Build trusting relationships and provide nurturing learning environments in homes, libraries, community centres, or schools
* Work trauma-informed and relationally, prioritising children’s emotional safety and readiness for education
* Collaborate with families and professionals to support each child’s journey, including smooth transitions into school or nursery
What we’re looking for:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with experience in EYFS and SEND, SEMH, or EBSA
* Understanding of trauma-informed, relational approaches and the EYFS framework
* Patience, empathy, and a belief in learning through play
* Willingness to support personal care sensitively when needed (training provided)
* Familiarity with Theraplay or nurture-based practice is a plus, but not essential
Who this role suits:
* EYFS teachers seeking a meaningful, flexible role with a better work-life balance
* Early Career Teachers wanting supported experience
* Experienced or retired teachers looking for purposeful work on their own terms
What we offer:
* Competitive pay of £26–£30 per hour (PAYE)
* Flexible working hours to fit your lifestyle and wellbeing
* Access to CPD, trauma-informed training, and peer support
* A supportive, values-led team that genuinely cares about your wellbeing
Ready to make a difference?
If you want to reconnect with the heart of teaching and help children rediscover the joy of learning — all while enjoying the flexibility and balance you deserve — we’d love to hear from you.
Let’s nurture learning, one child at a time. 🌱
