Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated and experienced Functional Skills Tutors to provide high-quality 1:1 tuition to learners across St Helens.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners of varying ages and abilities, delivering tailored Functional Skills tuition that develops literacy, numeracy and everyday problem-solving skills. You'll play a key role in helping learners progress towards their educational, employment and personal goals through engaging and practical lessons.

Tuition may take place in learners' homes, schools, community settings or other agreed venues, depending on individual requirements.

What We're Looking For

The successful Functional Skills Tutor will have:

* A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE or equivalent) or significant tutoring experience

* Experience delivering
** Functional Skills English and/or Maths*
* * Experience providing effective 1:1 tuition or small-group interventions

* The ability to plan engaging, learner-focused sessions tailored to individual needs

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* A patient, encouraging and adaptable approach to teaching

To Be Eligible, You Must:

* Have the Right to Work in the UK

* Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one

* Provide two professional references relating to work with children, young people or adult learners
