Key Stage Two Nurture Teacher – St Helens

£26–£30 per hour (PAYE) – 1:1 Relational Teaching, Flexible Hours, Immediate Start

Are you a Key Stage 2 teacher looking for a more flexible, purposeful way to teach — one that puts connection before curriculum and supports children who need it most?

We’re looking for caring and experienced KS2 educators in St Helens to work one‑to‑one with pupils currently outside of mainstream education. You’ll support academic progress, emotional well‑being, and, when appropriate, provide guidance around SATS preparation and transition to secondary school.

Teaching takes place in calm, low‑pressure environments such as students’ homes, local libraries, or community centres — allowing you to focus fully on each child’s needs without the noise of a crowded classroom.

Why this role?
  • Flexible working hours that work around your life
  • Competitive pay of £26–£30 per hour (PAYE)
  • A chance to make a meaningful impact without classroom stress
  • The freedom to teach in a relational, individualised way
  • Restore your work‑life balance while doing work that matters
What you’ll do
  • Deliver bespoke 1:1 sessions in core subjects (English, Maths, and more)
  • Support SATS preparation when needed, and help pupils feel ready for secondary school
  • Create a safe, nurturing space where each child can re‑engage with learning
  • Use trauma‑informed, relationship‑led approaches to build trust and confidence
  • Work closely with families and professionals to support long‑term success
We're looking for teachers who
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 2, particularly Years 5 and 6
  • Understand how to support pupils with SEND, SEMH, or EBSA
  • Are patient, empathetic, and adaptable to different learning styles
  • Believe in the power of personalised teaching and strong relationships
  • Have an interest in nurture‑based or trauma‑informed practice (training provided)
This role could suit
  • KS2 teachers looking for a more balanced, meaningful way to work
  • ECTs seeking experience in supported, 1:1 environments
  • Retired or part‑time teachers wanting to continue making a difference
  • Tutors or intervention teachers familiar with SATs or transition support
What we offer
  • £26–£30 per hour (PAYE)
  • Flexible hours that fit your availability
  • Access to high‑quality CPD and trauma‑informed training
  • Regular peer support and reflective practice spaces
  • A values‑led, friendly team that will support you every step of the way

We’re an equal opportunities employer. All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding procedures.
