SEND Apprentice Teaching Assistant role for aspiring educators seeking full-time paid teaching support experience for the academic year, before progressing into a permanent teaching support role.

Engage Education is working with multiple secondary school SEN departments in the St Helens area that are looking to secure Apprentice Teaching Assistants to provide outstanding 1:1 and small group SEN support to children with complex learning difficulties.

• Conducting specifically tailored 1:1 and small group support for children with SEN
• Creating warm and inspiring atmosphere for children throughout the school day
• Creating and sustaining meaningful rapport with students
• Communicating with colleagues and reporting to the school SENCO
• Located in one Rochdale secondary school for full academic year

• Paid £60 - £75 per day during term time
• Monday to Friday role from September 2026 to July 2027
• FREE online CPD courses across array of subjects
• Guaranteed TA qualification pending completion of 11 month course
• Option to join school permanently pending course completion

• Experience supporting children in any capacity
• Psychology, Education Studies or Neuroscience graduates desirable
• Naturally outgoing and engaging individual with interest in teaching
• Enhanced DBS on update service desirable but NOT mandatory
• Open to full-time work beginning September 2026
