SEND Teaching Assistants - St Helens

Primary Secondary College Specialist SEND Settings From £14 per hour

Do you have the patience, empathy and resilience to help a young person overcome barriers and achieve something they didn't think was possible?

Aspire People are working with a range of SEND schools, specialist provisions, resource bases and alternative settings across St Helens and the surrounding areas, and we're looking for dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join them throughout the autumn term, with schools needing immediate starts.

With opportunities across primary, secondary and college settings, there are roles to suit different experience levels and interests.

No Two Days Are the Same

Depending on the setting, you could be supporting pupils with:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • SEMH
  • MLD, SLD or PMLD
  • Speech, language and communication needs
  • Sensory or physical needs
  • Complex and additional learning needs

Your day could involve 1:1 support, small-group activities, communication and sensory work, life skills, classroom learning or helping pupils develop independence and confidence.

Some settings may also involve personal care, depending on the needs of the pupils.

You’ll work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and wider support teams to provide consistent, individualised support.

Experience in SEND Isn’t Essential

We’re keen to hear from experienced SEND Teaching Assistants, but also candidates with backgrounds in:

  • Care and support work
  • Residential settings
  • Youth work
  • Childcare
  • Education
  • Other roles supporting vulnerable children or young people

We’re looking for people who are calm, patient, adaptable and genuinely passionate about helping young people thrive.

What You Can Expect
  • From £14 per hour
  • St Helens and surrounding areas
  • Primary, secondary and college opportunities
  • Full-time and part-time roles
  • Long-term and temp-to-perm positions
  • Dedicated SEND education consultant
  • Free SEND-specific CPD and training
  • Roles matched to your experience and availability
  • £100 Refer-a-Friend bonus for Teaching Assistants and £250 for Teachers
  • Make Your Next Role Count

SEND education can be challenging, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. Whether you’re helping a pupil communicate, manage their emotions, engage with learning or take their next step towards independence, your support can have a lasting impact.

Aspire People Limited provides services as an Education Agency and an Education Employment Business. Placements are subject, to appropriate Child Protection screening, including checks with former employers and the Disclosure and Barring Checks.
