The Role Overview of the role

We're looking for an Electrical Control Panel Technician to join our Engineering team at Delkia's Haydock headquarters. Working on a range of safety‑critical projects within the nuclear, defence and clean energy sectors, you'll be responsible for assembling, wiring, testing and installing industrial electrical control panels and control systems to the highest quality standards.

You’ll work closely with Electrical Engineers and Project Managers throughout the build, test and installation phases, ensuring systems are delivered safely, accurately and in line with customer requirements.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assemble and wire electrical control panels and control systems from electrical schematics.
  • Install, inspect and test control panels prior to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and witness testing with customers.
  • Carry out electrical fault finding and resolve wiring or build issues during assembly and testing.
  • Produce red‑line drawing amendments and support the creation of accurate as‑built documentation.
  • Work closely with Electrical Engineers throughout project delivery.
About You What you’ll bring We Are Looking For Candidates Who Can Demonstrate
  • Time-served Electrical or EC&I Technician with experience in industrial control systems (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and safe working practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience testing and fault‑finding electrical control systems
  • Experience working to electrical standards and quality procedures
Nice to have

Although Not Essential, If You’re Also Able To Demonstrate The Following, We’ll Take That Into Account When Assessing Your Application

  • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of PLC‑controlled systems.
  • Experience using Swagelok fittings and products.
  • IOSH
