Finance Manager

Forge Talent are partnering with a well-established logistics business based in St Helen's to recruit a Finance Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation where you'll take ownership of the finance function, working closely with senior leadership to drive commercial performance and support the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and performance analysis for senior management.
• Manage the budgeting, forecasting and cash flow processes.
• Oversee billing, credit control and supplier payments, ensuring efficient and accurate financial operations.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls across the business.
• Analyse logistics costs, margins and profitability, identifying opportunities to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Support pricing decisions by providing commercial insight and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation and internal policies.
• Work closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders, providing financial support and business partnering across the organisation.
• Drive continuous improvements to finance processes, reporting and systems.

Your Profile:

We're looking for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced commercial environment and wants to play a key role in a growing business.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance position.
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Experience producing financial reports and maintaining robust financial controls.
• A commercial mindset with the ability to analyse costs, identify trends and influence business decisions.
• Experience managing billing, credit control and supplier payments.
• Strong Excel and finance systems skills, with experience of ERP systems being advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to partner with stakeholders across the business.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
