About the Service
Housing Standards is St Helens Borough Council’s private sector housing enforcement service, committed to ensuring that rented homes are safe, healthy and well managed. We work closely with landlords, tenants and managing agents to improve housing conditions, tackle poor standards and enforce housing legislation where necessary. A key priority for the service is delivering the Council’s responsibilities under the Renters’ Rights Act 2025, helping to protect tenants, support responsible landlords and raise standards across the private rented sector.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Housing Standards Team in a key role supporting the delivery of housing enforcement across St Helens. As a Housing Data and Finance Support Officer, you will use data, intelligence and financial information to help drive improvements in the private rented sector and support the Council's regulatory responsibilities under the Renters’ Rights Act 2025.
You will lead on the collection, analysis and reporting of housing enforcement data, monitor enforcement-related income, support the effective use of national landlord databases, and provide high-quality intelligence to inform enforcement activity and service improvement.
