As an IDVA, you will provide specialist support to victims of domestic abuse and work collaboratively with partners across statutory and voluntary sectors. Your responsibilities will include:
Completing MERIT risk assessments to identify risk levels and support needs Providing trauma-informed, practical and emotional support to victims and families Developing personalised safety plans and risk-management strategies Delivering training sessions, workshops and briefings to professionals and survivors Offering guidance and best-practice advice to internal and external stakeholders Representing victims' voices at MARAC to support coordinated multi-agency responses Working with partner agencies to implement effective safety and support plans Maintaining accurate case records and using case management systems Advocating for clients and raising awareness of domestic abuse and its impact What You'll Need to Succeed You will bring compassion, resilience and professional confidence, along with:
Experience supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse or complex needs Experience managing a caseload and developing risk assessments/safety plans Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage sensitive conversations Ability to build effective relationships with clients and partner agencies Experience using case management systems and maintaining accurate records A trauma-informed, person-centred approach Knowledge of domestic abuse legislation and services (desirable) Ability to travel across the North West (driving licence preferred due to outreach work) Working Pattern This is an outreach-based role involving community work and home visits across the North West.
Induction:
Fully office-based to support training and onboarding Typically 3 days office/community-based 1-2 days WFH Travel across the region is required, so the ability to drive is highly desirable.
