Making a Difference as Social Worker in Adults Services

We are St Helens Borough Council. Located in the heart of the Northwest close to Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire, St Helens is a modernising Council which is passionate and ambitious for the Adults and families we support, our communities and our workforce.

Our Social Workers are pivotal to our teams. When you join us in Adult Services you will undertake needs‑led assessments and provide specialist support to adults and their carers, service users and colleagues.

• Undertake needs‑led assessments
• Provide specialist support to adults and their carers, service users and colleagues
• Apply knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, risk factors and difficulties relevant to client groups
• Understand rehabilitation processes, particularly in relation to older people
• Knowledge of user and carer issues and a thorough understanding of the care management process
• Develop care packages
• Work with older/disabled people
• Work in a multi‑agency setting

• CQSW, DipSW or CSS or BA Hons in Social Work (essential)
• Willingness to undertake all essential training
• Social Work England registration (required)
• Driving licence with access to a vehicle (required)

This is an Enhanced Disclosure post. The post requires Social Work England registration and a driving licence with access to a vehicle.

The posts will require you to regularly attend the St Helens office and travel around the St Helens and surrounding areas.
