Are you an experienced Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) professional looking to step off the tools and shape the next generation of engineers? Or are you an established instructor looking for a rewarding role in a top-tier training environment?

We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging F-Gas Teacher and Assessor to lead our City & Guilds F-Gas and ODS regulations training.

Based at our St Ives centre, you will guide learners from diverse industry backgrounds through the essential theory and practical skills required for legal, safe, and environmentally responsible refrigerant handling.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality classroom theory (thermodynamics, environmental impacts, and UK regulations) and practical workshop sessions (refrigerant recovery, leak detection, pressure testing, and pipework brazing).

Stay ahead of industry shifts, incorporating industry updates into the curriculum ensuring current industry knowledge is delivered.

Act as the primary assessor for Category 1–4 practical exams, mark theoretical papers, and maintain rigorous, audit-ready compliance records in line with City & Guilds standards.

Manage workshop safety, equipment calibration, and inventory compliance—including cylinder tracking and legal waste disposal for OFN and refrigerants.

What We Are Looking For

* Essential Qualifications
* Level 2 Award in F-Gas and ODS Regulations (Category
1).

Plus, at least one of the following relevant qualifications:

City & Guilds NVQ in RAC (6187, 6007, 6017, or 6087)

City & Guilds Diploma in RAC and Heat Pumps , , , , or )

City & Guilds Certificate in RAC (6127), 207/3, or 257 (Part 1 or
2)

A related HND or degree combined with approved practical experience.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the RAC sector with a deep technical grasp of the vapour compression cycle and pressure enthalpy charts.

Education Credentials: A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., AET/PTLLS, CET/CTLLS, PGCE) and an Assessor Award (e.g., TAQA, A1, CAVA) are highly desirable. If you don't have these but have the right industry experience, we will support you to achieve them.

Attributes:
Meticulous approach to paperwork and regulatory audit trails, strong IT literacy (VLE and digital portfolios), and the ability to explain complex concepts to learners of all levels.

Desirable:
Registration with a relevant professional body.
