Location: Mount Cameron Primary School.
Hours: 35 hours per week.
Salary: Main Grade Teacher Scale - £43,383 - £54,453 per year.

About the school:

Our School Mount Cameron is a non-denominational Primary and Nursery school situated in the St Leonards South area of East Kilbride. The school opened in 1970 and the new school building was opened in 2017. Our school is a unique establishment within the South Lanarkshire Council school estate as it is the only school offering a primary school Gaelic Medium Education in the authority.

We currently have four Gaelic classes and seven English classes.

The Gaelic Department represents children from across South Lanarkshire Council. We offer an Early Years Provision of 1140 hours within two nursery classes: one for English and one for Gaelic Medium Education. In addition to our own nursery classes, Mounties Private Partnership Nursery Class is hosted within our school building, and we welcome and celebrate positive relationships across our settings. Many Mounties children continue onto Mount Cameron.

The nursery classes are included in life and work of the school and there are many opportunities to work and learn together. We have recently reviewed our shared school values ( Respect – Urram, Kindness – Coibhneas, Honesty – Onair, Equality – Co-ion-nanachd and Friendship – Cairdeas.) These values underpin everything we do and is part of our shared language across the school community.

Mount Cameron Primary School & Nursery Classes are part of the Calderglen Learning Community, and our feeder secondary school is Calderglen High. The school celebrates positive relationships with Calderglen and its’ feeder primary schools. Our school has a strong reputation within the local and wider community.

An Sgoil againn Tha Bun-sgoil Beinn Chamshroin na Bhun-sgoil agus Sgoil-àraich neo-bhuidheannach ann an sgìre St Leonards a Deas ann an Cille Bhrìghde an Ear. Dh’fhosgail an sgoil ann an 1970 agus chaidh togalach ùr na sgoile air fhosgladh ann an 2017. Tha an sgoil againn na h-ionad sònraichte taobh a-staigh oighreachd sgoile Comhairle Lannraig a Deas leis gur i an aon sgoil a tha a’ tabhann bun-sgoil Foghlam tro Mheadhan na Gàidhlig san ùghdarras.

Tha ceithir clasaichean Ghàidhlig againn, a bharrachd air seachd clasaichean Bheurla. Tha Roinn na Gàidhlig a’ riochdachadh clann bho air feadh Comhairle Shiorrachd Lannraig a Deas. Bidh sinn a’ tabhann Solar Tràth-bhliadhnaichean de 1140 uair taobh a-staigh dà sgoil-àraich: aon airson Beurla agus aon airson Foghlam tro Mheadhan na Gàidhlig. A bharrachd air na clasaichean-àraich againn fhèin, tha Sgoil-àraich Com-pàirteachas Prìobhaideach, ‘Mounties’ air aoigheachd taobh a-staigh togalach na sgoile againn, agus tha sinn a’ cur fàilte air agus a’ comharrachadh dàimhean adhartach thar ar suidheachaidhean.

Tha a mhòr chuid den chlann ‘Mounties’ a’ tighinn dhan sgoil againn cuideachd. Tha na clasaichean-àraich air an gabhail a-steach ann am beatha agus obair na sgoile agus tha iomadh cothrom ann a bhith ag obair agus ag ionnsachadh còmhla.
