Location: St Leonards

Are you an experienced Toolmaker with a strong background in engineering or manufacturing? Do you have experience working from technical drawings, manufacturing tooling to tight tolerances and carrying out tool repairs and maintenance? If so, this Toolmaker role could be an excellent opportunity for you!

This Toolmaker position is based in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex
. The working hours follow an earlies, days, lates rotating shift pattern Monday to Friday
. The role is permanent and paying up to £43,700 depending on experience
.

As the Toolmaker, you'll play a key role in supporting the company's manufacturing operation by producing, maintaining and repairing tooling to exact specifications and tolerances. You'll work with in a busy Tool Shop, using a range of machinery, hand tools and engineering equipment to deliver high-quality work within agreed timescales. You'll also work closely with Designers, Customers and colleagues to ensure technical requirements are correctly understood and delivered, while identifying and rectifying tooling faults and operational issues.

You

will need:
  • Proven experience working as a Toolmaker within an engineering, manufacturing or Toolroom environment
  • Strong ability to read, interpret and work accurately from detailed technical drawings
  • Experience manufacturing tooling to precise specifications and tight tolerances
  • Practical working knowledge of mechanical engineering and engineering workshop environments
  • Experience using a range of hand tools, machine tools and associated workshop equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and rectify tooling or operational issues
  • Experience working within a busy Tool Shop and delivering work to tight deadlines
  • A relevant Engineering qualification or apprenticeship would be desirable
