Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse – Critical Care

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join our friendly and supportive critical care team. We are looking for a nurse who can demonstrate recent substantive experience at Band 5 level in a critical care environment and evidence the completion of the Intensive care course with 6 months post consolidation.

• Work within the multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for level 2 and 3 patients.
• Provide comprehensive patient care and ensure optimum physical and psychological well‑being throughout the period of critical illness.
• Support relatives and families during the patient's critical illness.
• Support senior and junior colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care on a shift‑to‑shift basis.
• Take charge of the unit in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, maintaining high standards of care.

• Recent substantive Band 5 critical care experience.
• Completion of the Intensive Care course with at least 6 months post‑consolidation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Motivated, enthusiastic and proactive in delivering high standards of care.

• Staff development and enrolment in the NHS pension scheme.
