Job OverviewThe Plant Manager leads a team to success while ensuring a safe and injury/incident‑free environment in our fast‑paced board extrusion plant. The role motivates, coaches, and inspires by demonstrating, promoting and applying Georgia‑Pacific’s Principles Based Management (PBM®) in daily actions and decisions to deliver maximum value to the business and our customers.
Our TeamWe are part of the Dixie® production network and integrated with our Lexington, Kentucky operation to support the production of Dixie Cup products. The plant employs roughly 50 employees in a union operating environment.
What You Will Do- Develop capabilities within a team of leaders to drive improved performance of the entire production and maintenance workforce.
- Balance supply and demand requirements through collaboration with other G‑P production operations.
- Design and execute the operational vision, plans and processes to improve operations performance to established maximum potential.
- Lead and set the example with expectations tied to compliance and stewardship (EH&S).
- Collaborate with key stakeholders (business leaders, Operations VP, Dixie manufacturing and business leadership) to set and drive vision and operational strategy for facility.
- Define and use clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure results and monitor progress.
- Attract, retain, and develop talent to increase our competitive advantage.
- Manage capital investment and expenses to ensure the facility achieves financial targets and promotes growth and profitability.
- Experience supervising and developing people leaders within an industrial, manufacturing, or other production environment.
- Experience driving process transformation and delivering measurable results in an industrial, manufacturing, or other production environment.
- Prior experience working in board extrusion operation.
- Experience leading a maintenance and/or operations department within a production facility.
- Experience driving transformation in a union environment.
